The world’s first SavannaX user: Sykli leads the way in sustainable device lifecycle management

With SavannaX, Sykli can easily and reliably see the status of its device fleet and ready-made action recommendations at a glance. This simplifies budgeting and planning device-related actions while also generating cost savings in device procurement. Since Sykli's devices are generally used for long periods, the service helps the organisation anticipate and respond to unexpected device issues. This makes it possible to avoid unnecessary device replacements when there are still measures available to extend a device's lifespan. Extending device lifecycles is also an environmental benefit, reducing unnecessary electronic waste. SavannaX eliminates the manual effort previously required to assess device health and plan maintenance actions using installed device agents. The service is easy to use, even for non-technical users.
Sykli became the very first SavannaX customer in September 2025, adopting the platform immediately after its launch. We spoke with HR and Finance Manager, Miia Stålhammar, and with IT Support and Systems Specialist, Aada Heilimo, about the benefits they have experienced after eight months of use.
What challenges did you previously have in managing device lifecycles, and how did SavannaX solve them?
Miia: We were already using our computers for as long as possible, but the end of a device's lifecycle often came as a surprise because we lacked data about its condition. Since computers are essential work tools for us, urgent replacement needs would sometimes arise unexpectedly. A new device is not always necessary. Often, smaller maintenance actions can significantly extend a device's lifespan. With SavannaX, we can identify issues in advance and prepare for them well in advance. For example, a slow device does not necessarily mean it is faulty or needs replacing - sometimes a software update is enough. SavannaX is easy to use, even for non-technical users, and the service clearly explains which actions to take for each device.
Aada: The service is still fairly new to me, and I have only recently started using it. SavannaX helps manage our device environment by making it easy to compare device conditions, see who is using each device, and identify obsolete devices to remove from inventory. The service clearly highlights different issues, such as ageing batteries or required updates. This allows me to determine whether a device actually has a problem or if simple maintenance is sufficient. With a single glance, I can see what issues a device has. In many other systems, identifying these issues requires digging through data and manually interpreting information.
You already had a device agent in place. How does SavannaX differ from a standalone device agent in your opinion?
Miia: I had not personally used our device agent before, as it was managed by a colleague.
Aada: I have only used our device agent once, and it was primarily used by another person. A device agent lets you dive deeper into individual devices and inspect events and technical details. SavannaX differs by providing clear action recommendations and highlighting issues in a single view. The information is already organised and actionable, rather than requiring users to gather and interpret data from multiple sources.
What new features would be useful for you?
Miia: Nothing specific comes to mind at this stage. The service has been very good and fully sufficient for my role. It has met the needs we had when we adopted the service and when device procurement was part of my responsibilities. SavannaX provided ready-made recommendations and action plans for our devices, helping us maximise device lifecycles.
Aada: Software visibility would be very useful - specifically seeing which applications are installed and how actively they are being used. It would also be helpful to identify potentially harmful applications that no one recognises. Notifications when new software is installed on devices would be another valuable feature. If possible, I would also like to see a desktop version of SavannaX alongside the browser-based version.
What have you gained from using SavannaX that you did not anticipate beforehand?
Miia: The service delivered exactly what we expected based on the demonstrations and discussions before adoption. We got what we were looking for.
Aada: I have only recently started using the service, but it has already made troubleshooting and monitoring device health faster and easier. I didn't have any specific expectations that the service failed to meet.
What are the biggest benefits considering your roles and responsibilities (Miia, HR and Finance Manager, and Aada, IT Support, Technical Support, and Office Coordinator)?
Miia: Budgeting for device purchases has become much easier. We can responsibly extend device lifecycles instead of immediately replacing devices, which is both sustainable and helps reduce unnecessary waste. SavannaX allows us to easily monitor device health and usage levels. Devices with low utilisation can be identified and reviewed to ensure employees are using their work devices rather than personal computers.
Aada: The biggest benefit is the amount of time it saves me. I can quickly see the overall status of all devices at a glance. In the future, direct notifications about device events will make my work even easier.
Was there anything SavannaX did not meet your expectations for?
Miia: The service fully met my expectations, and I have been very satisfied with it.
Aada: I am satisfied with the service. The only future enhancement I would like to see is the ability to connect directly to a device remotely and perform actions without needing separate tools. It would make my work even easier if the same platform could be used not only for monitoring but also for carrying out management tasks. I see a lot of potential in the service.
Is there anything you would like to say to a person or company still considering using SavannaX in their business?
Miia: SavannaX makes it easy to understand the condition and status of your devices based on real, easy-to-read data rather than assumptions. Issues and recommended actions are clearly visible, eliminating guesswork. The service simplifies daily operations and helps keep device procurement costs under control. SavannaX supports sustainable business practices by extending device lifespans, which is very important to us. We can avoid unnecessary device purchases and reduce electronic waste. It also helps us anticipate future actions and requirements. SavannaX is suitable even for non-technical users. Everyday users can easily benefit from the service and its recommendations, and the barrier to adoption is very low.
Aada: Miia summarised my thoughts very well. I also see the service as an excellent fit for smaller organisations that lack a dedicated full-time IT professional. SavannaX accelerates IT work and makes it easier to monitor device health when fast, efficient device management is needed.
